Use the character menu to separate three jobs: equip what you have collected, inspect talents, and read the next zone’s unlock condition. These are distinct systems; simply selecting a new map does not bypass its boss requirement.

Objectives and their reward information
These labels are visible in v0.120.4. Open the relevant panel to read a particular item or requirement; the table is a navigation guide, not a claim that every item drops everywhere.
Equipment persists beyond the immediate run
The equipment panel explicitly says that bosses drop gear for your class to keep. The fresh Warrior screen showed an empty equipment row and a collection counter of 0/54. That counter belongs to the selected context; it is not evidence that the entire game contains only 54 items.
Check both collection and worn equipment. Owning a piece and having the intended setup equipped are different questions. Use the in-game drop information for a specific target instead of borrowing an item location from World of Warcraft.
Read talent points in context
Our fresh character displayed 0 of 51 points in the talent entry. That confirms the interface’s displayed allocation counter, but does not establish how fast every player earns points or which allocation is optimal. Read each node’s condition and effect in the current client.
When comparing two runs, note any talent changes. Otherwise a difference you attribute to a class or card may come from progression between attempts.
Early zone unlock chain
The right-hand zone list shows a named boss requirement. The following entries were visible on October 27:
Zone to open
Requirement shown
Duskwood
Defeat Edwin VanCleef in Elwynn Forest
Warsong Gulch
Defeat Morbent Fel in Duskwood
Un’Goro Crater
Defeat Lord Kazzak in Warsong Gulch
Arathi Basin
Defeat King Mosh in Un’Goro Crater
Feralas
Defeat Lord Aliden Perenolde in Arathi Basin
Gurubashi Arena
Defeat King Gordok in Feralas
Scarlet Monastery
Defeat Hakkar the Soulflayer in Gurubashi Arena
This is the visible early chain, not an asserted complete twelve-zone walkthrough. The first selected zone’s panel schedules Edwin VanCleef at 16:00. Reaching the time is not the same as satisfying the wording “defeat.”
The save description refers to zones each class has opened. After changing class, inspect its own zone list rather than assuming access carries over identically.
Keep a separate save backup
The Saves screen includes heroes, class zone unlocks, gear, talents and the codex. For the export/import sequence, replacement warning and post-import checks, use the save backup guide.
Does surviving until the final boss unlock the next zone?
The inspected lock text requires defeating a named boss. A timer reaching the boss’s appearance time does not by itself satisfy that wording.
Does importing combine two saves?
No. The checked save screen explicitly warns that importing replaces the current progress with the file’s progress.
Source and scope
Original game, v0.120.4 (93ecb257): character, zone and save menus, checked October 27, 2026. We inspected the conditions; we did not complete the entire unlock chain or perform a save restore on an established character.
Menu observations are dated. A newer game build may change the details. See our editorial policy for evidence and limitations. About →
